Terms and Conditions of Travel
When purchasing tickets through the web domain theoriginalteagardensferry.com.au, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions of Travel.
These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between TG Ferry Service Pty Ltd, you as the purchaser, and all passengers you represent when booking travel through this website, by telephone, SMS, or via a third party.
A Passenger is defined as any person aged between 0 and 120 years for whom travel is booked and who boards or attempts to board any vessel operated by TG Ferry Service Pty Ltd.
General Conditions of Travel
- All passengers travel entirely at their own risk.
- At all times during the voyage, the vessel remains under the absolute authority and control of the Master. The navigation, operation and management of the vessel and crew are the sole responsibility of the Master.
- Once on board, all passengers are subject to the authority of the Master and crew and are expected to behave in a safe, respectful and socially acceptable manner.
- The Master reserves the right to refuse boarding or require any passenger to disembark the vessel at any time, without providing a specific reason.
Group Terms & Conditions

Group Ferry Bookings
Return Ferry
$32 per person • Minimum 20 passengers
Bookings can be made directly online.
A $500 deposit is required to secure the booking.
Balance payable 14 days prior to departure.
One-Way Ferry (Groups)
$16 per person • Minimum 20 passengers
Bookings can be made directly online.
A $250 deposit is required to secure the booking.
Balance payable 14 days prior to departure.
Golf Groups
$32 per person • Minimum 10 passengers
Invoice bookings only.
Full payment must be made 14 days prior to departure.
Refund Policy
No refunds once the balance has been paid, due to number reduction. Unless 48hr notice is received.
If numbers drop below group minimum full fare will be required.
River Cruise – Group Charter
MV Wallamba (Private Charter)
$1,200 for 2.5 hours
Maximum 25 passengers
Catering Options (Group Bookings)
- High Tea – $25 per person
Departs 10:30am - Ploughman’s Lunch – $25 per person
Departs 11:30am - Sunset Seafood Sizzle – $30 per person
Departs 4:30pm
September to March: 5:30pm during Daylight Saving - Catering options may be requested
Dry Hire Charter – Self Catering (Up to 3 Hours)
- MV Wallamba – $1,200 • Maximum 25 passengers
- MV Jesse – $1,500 • Maximum 40 passengers
- MV Tea Gardens – $1,800 • Maximum 60 passengers
- Payment Terms
A $500 deposit is required to secure the booking.
Balance payable 14 days prior to departure.
No refunds once the balance has been paid.
All prices are in Australian dollars and subject to availability.
Boarding and Check-In
- Boarding and check-in commence 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
- Passengers arriving after the scheduled departure time may not be permitted to board if the vessel has already departed the wharf.
- Nelson Bay departures: Public Wharf, 40 Victoria Parade, Nelson Bay.
- Tea Gardens departures: Ferry Wharf, 93 Marine Drive, Tea Gardens.
Tickets and Bookings
- Tickets and bookings are non-transferable and valid only for the date and service shown at the time of booking.
- Bookings cannot be transferred to any other operator.
- No passenger is entitled to any specific seat. Seating is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and at the discretion of the Master.
Children and Concessions
- Child fares apply to children aged 4 to 14 years inclusive.
- Children under 4 years of age travel for a minimal charge.
- Concession fare applies to senior card, disability or age pension
Passenger Conduct and Safety
- Smoking, vaping, or any similar activity is strictly prohibited on board the vessel.
- Passengers must comply with all safety instructions given by the Master or crew.
Force Majeure and Limitation of Liability
TG Ferry Service Pty Ltd accepts no liability in contract or tort for any injury, loss, damage, delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Severe or unforeseen weather conditions
- Acts of God
- Fire, flood or natural disaster
- War, civil disturbance or industrial action
- Acts or directions of government or authorities
- Mechanical failure of vessels, engines or equipment
Variations to Services
- TG Ferry Service Pty Ltd reserves the right to vary fares, timetables, routes and itineraries without notice.
- These Terms and Conditions may be amended at any time without prior notice.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
TG Ferry Service Pty Ltd reserves the right to cancel, vary or abandon any cruise prior to or during operation if deemed necessary due to weather conditions or in the interest of passenger, crew or vessel safety.
- In the event of operator cancellation, passengers will be offered an alternative travel date or a full refund if the booking was prepaid in full.
- TG Ferry Service Pty Ltd will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by passengers, including accommodation, meals or alternative transport.
- If a cruise is abandoned, delayed or diverted after departure, no compensation will be payable for resulting expenses.
Customer Cancellations
- A 100% cancellation fee applies to bookings cancelled by the customer with less than 48 hours’ notice.
- No refund will be provided for no-shows or failure to travel for any reason outside the terms stated above.
Risk Warning
Every reasonable precaution is taken to ensure passenger safety. However, travel by vessel involves inherent risks, including but not limited to vessel movement, unpredictable sea conditions, unfamiliar vessel layouts, and wet or slippery surfaces.
All passengers board and travel at their own risk. Neither the owner, Master nor crew accept liability for personal injury or damage to passenger property, howsoever caused.
Security Policy
When purchasing tickets through theoriginalteagardensferry.com.au, all credit card details are transmitted securely via the online payment system Stripe.
TG Ferry Service Pty Ltd does not store or retain credit card details after payment processing.
