Booking Information

  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure.
  • Please wait on the upper walkway until crew advise you to enter the gangway.
  • Check-in and boarding commence 15 minutes prior to departure.
  • If pre-booked, please have your booking confirmation available.
  • Please have Senior / Concession cards ready for crew to view.
  • If travelling with a voucher or gift card, please hand it to the crew on boarding.
  • Group or family bookings must have all members present before boarding.

Passengers travelling with a push bike may be required to remove saddle bags and batteries for ease of lifting if required.
A fee of $5 each way is payable at the time of booking.

Parking Information

  • Nelson Bay: Most parking is metered at approximately $4/$5 per hour. A limited amount of unrestricted parking is available at the top of Magnus Street (approximately a 10-minute walk to the public wharf). Street parking is generally limited to 4 hours, while the public wharf car park allows up to 9 hours.
  • Tea Gardens: Street parking is widely available.

Cancellation Policy

  • A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to receive a refund.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of departure are non-refundable. You may reschedule your booking; however, refunds will not apply to a cancelled rescheduled booking.
  • No-shows are not eligible for a refund or reschedule.
  • Group bookings must provide 48 hours’ notice for any change in passenger numbers.
  • No refund will apply if group numbers are changed on the day of departure.
  • If The Original Tea Gardens Ferry cancels a service due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will apply.
